The 2014 Brass Rat is available in 4 sizes: Extra-Small, Small, Medium & Large. These do not strictly relate to your finger size.

Larges and Mediums are only available in sizes 7 to 21, Small & Extra-Smalls are only available in sizes 2 to 10.

Ring Sizing: Balfour representatives will have special MIT sizers to ensure an accurate measurement of your finger. If you are unable to visit the ring table, you can get your finger measured at a local jeweler. Paper measures are inaccurate.

Engraving: Each ring will be engraved on the inside with the Hacker’s Map in addition to 18 letters, numbers and/or spaces (Most people engrave their name). Note that Greek Letters can be engraved but many fraternities and sororities impose a $50 licensing fee to use their letters.

Celstrium™ Half Price Offer: Buy a gold ring and get a Celestrium™ ring for half price ($59). The celestrium ring must be for the same person and be the same bezel size, finger size and have the same engraving and be ordered at the same time as the gold ring.

Engraved Cherry Box: $15 with purchase of a 10K, 14K, or 18K gold ring, and $30 with purchase of a Celestrium, BPS or BI ring.

You can pay in full, use the credit card payment plan or place a deposit of at least $25 and pay the balance before the ring is delivered. There are no extra charges for any payment options.

MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover are accepted. We do not need the actual card if you are using a parent’s card number but do need the expiration date.

Cash, money order and personal checks made payable to Balfour are accepted for deposits.

INTEREST FREE CREDIT CARD PAYMENT PLAN---NO CHARGE: You can place a minimum $75 deposit on each ring and pay the balance over 2, 4 or 6 months. The payments are automatically deducted every 30 days from the time the first deposit is deducted. You will receive your ring at Ring Delivery even if the payments are still being deducted. There is no extra charge.

If you choose to place a deposit and pay the balance before you receive the ring, it can be paid by one of these methods:

C.B.I's Lifetime Warranty for Gold and Balfour Imperiu™ Rings

Your C.B.I. ring is hand-crafted to meet your complete satisfaction. Only the finest materials have been used to ensure years of enjoyment. The following services will be performed without charge for the original owner of the C.B.I. M.I.T. Ring:

• Repair defects in workmanship or materials at the time of original delivery.
• If repairs cannot be made due to defects in workmanship and materials, the product will be replaced at C.B.I.’s discretion.
• Resize Ring (all rings can be resized up to two sizes)
• Clean and polish your Ring.
• Genuine stones and diamonds are not covered.
• Should your year of graduation or degree change at the same school, a change to your ring will be made at no charge (limited to one occurrence for year date and one occurrence for degree). A charge may apply for engraving changes where year date or degree is included.
• No other change from the original order is permitted under the warranty.
• This warranty is void if work is performed on your Ring by someone other than C.B.I.
• If the Ring is damaged or worn beyond your satisfaction, it may be exchanged for a Ring of current design at Balfour’s current remake charge.
• Damages resulting from improper handling, lack of care, or normal wear and tear are not covered by this warranty.

Other C.B.I. M.I.T. Class of 2014 Warranties on all Rings:

Change of Year: A student who changes year of graduation at MIT after a Ring is purchased may return the Ring to be remade with proper year at no charge.

Failure to Graduate: A student who fails to graduate with his/her class may return his/her Ring for a full refund.

Resolution of Warranty Disputes: Disputes as to the validity of the warranty clauses will be resolved by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Ring Committee. C.B.I. agrees to abide by the decision of the Ring Committee. With C.B.I.s philosophy that the customer is always right, such arbitration by the Committee has never been necessary.

Change of Finish: Should a student not be totally satisfied with his or her original choice of finish, refinishing would be completed at no additional charge.

Ring Loss Protection Plan: Your Balfour M.I.T. Ring is so precious that it is automatically protected against loss or theft. If your Ring is lost or stolen, C.B.I. will replace the Ring after payment of a $100.00 deductible plus shipping and handling and appropriate sales tax. This protection plan is in effect for four years from the date of purchase on all original Rings, and is limited to a single replacement of the original MIT Ring during the four year period. This ring loss protection plan excludes diamonds and precious stones.
